A Few Thoughts...

1) I just caught Smokin' Aces on HBO and all I could think to myself during most of the movie was, "damn, this is just a bigger budget Snakes on a Plane...and I think I enjoyed Snakes on a Plane more". Not really a knock on either, I just found both to be completely ridiculous but Snakes was a bit more intentionally over the top and absurd which made me like it more as opposed to Aces which wanted to be a little more legit. Just a little. I mean what can stand up next to a cock-bighting scene?

2) I hate that The Wire was not as popular two years ago when Levy (the Barksdale lawyer) was starring in a line of Subway ads as the business guy face fucking his sandwich. That always used to kill me. What would Wee-Bey say?

3) When I watched We are Marshall a few weeks ago, I found myself cracking up everytime Mathew Fox popped up trying to be serious and remorseful. It's not that I did not sympathize with the character. Rather I just could not get the morning after diner scene from Knocked Up out of my head when Katherine Heigl is explaining to Seth Rogen how she has to interview Mathew Fox, and he says, "You know what is interesting about Mathew Fox? Absolutely nothing!". I don't think I'll ever be able to look at Fox in the same light. Kind of like how I can't shake the idea of Joe Simpson as Scotty from Boogie Nights. I KNOW that he asked Nick to check out his Corvette on New Years Eve 2003. (BTW, I recycled that joke from my old site, but I'm guessing most people missed it.)

4) Speaking of Boogie Nights, how does that only rank a 7.7 out of 10 on IMDB. That is an outrage! Bring it On

5) OK, for shits and giggles some other IMDB rankings.
