A Slow Sports Week and an American Icon....

Boy, it has been a slow week for sports. As a result, the blog has been quiet. Here are some nuggets from the last week:

-The Celtics continue to be a great team to watch. Even in their loss today without KG, they are moving the ball like a team that could compete in the 80's, the Big Baby and Perkins continue to develop into above average big men, and the Garden continues to sell-out. However, their weakness is becoming more evident as the season begins to wear on KG, Pierce and Allen. When one of them is out, it becomes far more likely that the team will lose. With Stoudemire being released tomorrow from the Grizzlies, I can only hope that Ainge will go out there and try to add some depth before the trade deadline.

-Does anyone besides the media actually think for a second that Brady will not play every down next week? This just shows how quiet a week it has been for sports....

-Kyle Snyder reached a contract agreement with the Sox, making Kevin Youkilis, or however the hell you spell it, the only player still eligible for arbitration. Youk is looking for 3.7 Million up from $424,500.00 last year. He is a gold glove first baseman, he has a good bat and has not made an error in like 15 years at first base. GIVE HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS! Even at 3.7 he is a steal.

-On the same note, I like the Snyder signing, he had a great year out in the pen, and he is a quality long relief option for when Wakefield gets shelled from time to time.

-Rambo is the best movie ever made. If you have not seen it yet, then stop reading and go see it. I would estimate that Rambo kills about 500 people. The total death toll is easily over 1,000. It is the first movie I have seen in a long time that had people cheering throughout it. At one point I am pretty sure Rambo outruns a nuclear explosion....because he is awesome.

As the Superbowl approaches, there is sure to be much to talk about...See you soon.

I dont know who you are but you are right, Kevin Faulk should have been an option on the last poll. I have adjusted this weeks poll to account for that.
